A lot of love and attention is put into the production of each and every one of our fashion belts. I found it very satisfying to watch the belts being made and to see the final finished products. My partner's Italian family made the whole belt production process look very simple. It's all made possible by drawing on their skills, experience and craftsmanship built up over forty years, in leathers and belt making.
All fashion belts from Floridetti.com are unique and take several stages to complete. European fashion fairs are attended to help influence and guide us with belt colours, styles and materials. Materials and belt buckles are selected for their superior quality and purchased from many of Italy's finest suppliers.
There are usually two separate parts to a quality fashion belt you will find on Floridetti.com. The first section is the supporting upper crust that is cut from a chunky piece of supreme leather, before having there edges bevelled. Then the whole beauty of the belt's top layer is cut out to size with a sharp knife and hand trimmed with a pair of scissors.
Each piece is then generously hand painted with glue, left to dry for a while and
 then carefully fused together. After the two prepared parts have become one, the end of the belt is then cut to a rounded or squared finishing shape. Holes for fastening the buckle are punched in to place and the edges sanded, so the two parts are virtually indistinct, then painted with a complimenting colour.
The belt is now at the stage where the beautiful piece is stitched around its special, pre-prepared bevelled edges, giving a smooth, neat finishing touch, and providing extra durability. The strong thread used, is picked to match the belt's colour or chosen selectively to contrast the belt’s colour.
At this stage of the creation process, the end is near and the chosen belt buckle can be attached, et Voila! A desirable
 piece of art is complete and ready for sale at Floridetti.com.
When the belts are complete, they are then placed in their protection pouch and packed carefully, before being dispatched by courier, from Italy to the Floridetti office, based in England.
